First one is Last name of game programmer, second one - street name it Tokyo, where just now opened entertainment complex "NAMCO INTI SHIBUYA". Back in 1985 year there was small developer company "TomCat System" where Ookubo Ryouiti was working and who develop "Battle City" game for NAMCO company.

In final version memory areas for storing key sequence and for checking this sequence is different so it isn't possible to trigger cheat. Anyway, cheat counter don't reading at all in game, so it absolutely unuseful. It may be used as default round time counter. 0x50, 0x51 vars are counter in decimal notation, 0x4F main cheat flag, 0x53-0x5C sequence check area, 0x52 - sequence length variable. 0xAD-0xB6 - sequence store area, 0xAC - sequence length var (uninitialized by default, may be any index in zero memory).

Test checks ROM area from $C100 to $FFFF and goes to infinite loop with message "CHECK SUM ERR" or just exit procedure quietly. Cartridge version of this game based on FDS version. There is still almost 1K or FDS system bios contains in NES ROM at the same location. Some parts of code designed the same way it was in FDS version, but with some modifications. The same routine, but slightly different, present at start of FDS code and perform test of three address locations quietly, tests are pass so game goes further without any messages. Looks like this routine was planned for cart version too but not included in final version for some reason.

Another HUDSON's games contain some secret messages about "KIKU" and "MEGU". "KIKU" stands for Kikuta Masaaki (菊田政昭) but "MEGU" was still unknown. It seems there was some woman programmer in HUDSON. Both messages from "Star Soldier" means woman with name starting with "M". What if this is the same woman names? M.Akakura and Megumi must be same person just in both good and bad moods. ;) So we have probably name of beloved woman programmer - Megumi Akakura.

For performing PRG ROM test it needs to hold Up + Down + Left + Right + A + Select + Start. For performing CHR RAM test it needs to hold Up + Down + Left + Right + B + Select + Start. Without controller modification it is impossible. GameGenie codes allows you to do not use D-pad buttons for triggering cheat, only A + Select + Start and B + Select + Start. But it affects on ROM's CRC. I ran these tests normally by cheating with debugger, so I wrote normal CRC tests results in brackets.
